A Night to Remember: Celebrating the Launch of The Jewelry Edit Foundation

On April 28, The Jewelry Edit Foundation officially launched with a gathering at Moss New York. The evening brought together a vibrant community of supporters, industry professionals, and advocates who share a belief in the power of jewelry as a force for connection, storytelling, and transformation.

Among the highlights of the evening was a deeply personal reflection from actor and advocate Lynda Carter, a member of the Foundation’s board. Carter spoke about the emotional resonance of jewelry in her own life, particularly during her husband’s illness, when she found strength in the pieces he had gifted her over the years. Each one, she said, was a vessel of memory, love, and enduring connection – a reminder that jewelry often carries meaning far beyond aesthetics.

“Real change isn’t just about innovation—it’s about leaving a legacy that inspires and empowers others. By mentoring the next generation of jewelry talent, we ensure that creativity, craftsmanship, responsibility and purpose continue to evolve. True impact is measured not by what we create alone, but by how many we lift along the way.”

JEWELRY OFTEN CARRIES MEANING FAR BEYOND AESTHETICS

Founder Rosena Sammi, a longtime advocate for equity and ethics in the jewelry world, shared her vision for the Foundation. Drawing on years of experience within the industry, Sammi spoke candidly about the barriers faced by emerging designers and the need for structural change. The Foundation, she explained, is built to open doors – to make mentorship, resources, and opportunities accessible to those who have been historically excluded. But beyond inclusivity, it’s also a platform for advancing sustainability, transparency, and social responsibility across the industry.

The event itself served as a living expression of that mission. Conversations flowed, ideas were exchanged, and a shared sense of purpose filled the room.

Looking ahead, The Jewelry Edit Foundation will continue its work through workshops, educational programming, and collaborative initiatives that champion ethical practices and empower the next generation of jewelry designers to become not only creatives but conscious change makers.

The launch was more than a celebration, it was a declaration of intent: to help shape a jewelry industry that is more equitable, sustainable, and deeply rooted in purpose.
